Words Beyond Time-Space?
Gabriel's Words to Muhammad
Calculations based on Evidence
Naturalism or Supernaturalism
All Muslims consider the Qur’an to be without error based on the belief that the Archangel Gabriel spoke each word to Muhammad through spiritual experiences. People close to Muhammad report that Muhammad had very deep spiritual experiences as follows:
"Ayesha [Muhammad's favorite wife] reported "I saw him [Muhammad] while the revelation descended upon him on an intensely cold day; then it left him while his brow steamed with sweat" (Miskat IV).
In another story reported in the Hadith called Sahih Muslim, Book 26, Number 5395, [Search on the referenced site to find the number "5395"] Muhammad is reported to have gone into a trance-like state. Just before this phenomenon occurred, Muhammad was eating his evening meal and had been asked a question by another wife named Sauda. Then the event occurred. As the trance-like state took control over Muhammad, his thoughts and actions appeared to be frozen in time. No gestures or speech proceeded from Muhammad as long as he remained under spiritual captivation. Suddenly the phenomenon ended and Muhammad reentered the conversation with Sauda. The Story about this event reads as follows:
Narrated Ayesha [Muhammad's favorite wife]:
. . . Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) was at that time in my house having his evening meal and there was a bone in his hand. Sauda [Another wife of Muhammad] reclined and said: Allah's Messenger. I went out and 'Umar said to me so and so [Asking Muhammad for permission]. She (Ayesha) reported: There came the revelation to him and then it was over; the bone was then in his hand and he had not thrown it and he said:" Permission has been granted to you that you may go out . . ."
It is apparent that Muhammad experienced trance-like states, fire-filled spiritual experiences, visions, and dreams. But were these words spoken under spiritual captivation from the Archangel Gabriel? People who believe Muhammad received words from Gabriel do so on complete "blind faith," even those who were direct witnesses of Muhammad's spiritual experiences.
The "Einstein Method" permits us (humankind) to analyze whether the Archangel Gabriel truly spoke to Muhammad. If the words are from outside time-space, then true prophetic events will be observed 100% of the time. If the words are from inside time-space, then we can expect false prophecy.
This section analyzes the prophecies of the Qur'an based on the "official" Qur'an being published in the year 653 CE. (Note: Best case publish date is 634 CE called the "Hafsah Codex" that was destroyed by Muslims after release of the "official" Uthmanic Codex. In addition, I have considered the oral prophecies of Muhammad on the page that analyzed "Is Muhammad the last prophet"). Below is a summary of the five prophecies made by Muhammad. You can click on any number in the far left column if you want to return to the page to review that item. After the summary, I will make conclusions using a math based tool.

Since we have five credible data points, we can use math to come to unbiased conclusions (using a statistical tool called the Chi-square test for Independence). To use this approach requires a well stated viewpoint (hypothesis). Then the data can be analyzed based on that viewpoint.
Naturalists do not expect prophecy to be possible. However, I have chosen to look at this real life question from the Naturalists viewpoint. We simply state that "Prophecy in the Qur’an is not possible." Having made that statement as our viewpoint (hypothesis), some calculations are done. This will tell us whether we should have confidence that the Naturalist viewpoint for Muhammad is true or false.
|
For our purposes of using the Chi-square tool, we only need to determine whether an event is true or false. The table above summarizes the data and shows that we have five credible prophecies from the Qur'an. Each event counts as one unit.
For those wanting to review the math, the calculations are done in the quick pop-up window to the right. Or you can move forward and read about the conclusions below (based on math).

Conclusions
The purpose of using the mathematical approach is to find out if the hypothesis is true or false. Using this method, we conclude that "Prophecy in the Qur'an is not possible" appears to be true.
The opposite viewpoint is that "Muhammad's Prophecies come from outside time-space." This viewpoint was found to be False at the 92.6% confidence level. There are only eight chances in a 100 that this conclusion is due to random error. The evidence supports that Muhammad does not appear to have received words from outside time-space.
Due to these ideas, the viewpoint of Naturalist concerning Muhammad appears to be correct. Muhammad appears to have believed that he was receiving truth from outside time-space. However, it is evident that Muhammad did not receive eternal spiritual truth.
The conclusions based on evidence support that we must question the source of the Qur'an. Muhammad claimed that he received words from God through the Archangel Gabriel.
In contrast, Daniel makes the same claim. We have found that Daniel's foretold events about the Messiah have all come true, which meets the Einstein Method guidelines. And Jesus, the Messiah, has consistently foretold the future, showing that Jesus' words appear to come from outside time-space. Between Daniel and Jesus, we have found 12 successful prophecies. The time lengths range from 195 to 1,904 years. We conclude that the prophecies of Daniel (foretelling of Jesus) and Jesus (long term prophecies) come from outside time-space (at the 99.94% confidence level).
Since Muhammad's prophecies have failed, who is the spiritual being that claimed to be the Archangel Gabriel?
This analysis births numerous questions about the spiritual world. There is more to reality than meets the eye. And it appears that we have discovered words from outside time-space in the Christian faith. Due to this discovery, it is important to look into the spiritual views of the New Testament. Below you can continue by choosing "Frequently Asked Questions" that have been divided into three different categories: Muslim FAQs, Christians FAQs, and Secular FAQs. Or you can choose to continue deeper by looking into the conclusions drawn from the Einstein Method about the Qur'an.
