While preparing to lead a study of I John, chapter one, I experienced a unique healing experience in which liquid fire came from my hands that later lead to the out-of-body experience. What happened that night totally transformed my life.

After discussing plans for the coming study, Daryl wanted to know more about my spiritual journey. I told her about two prior spiritual experiences and of my research on Christ's return.

When Daryl heard these stories, she said to me, "If you lay your hands on me and pray for me, I'll be healed."

I was startled by Daryl's request and replied that I had never before prayed for someone to be healed. We continued to discuss healing for several minutes until Daryl asked, "How do you want to do this?"

I told Daryl that she could bring a chair to the middle of the room where I would lay my hands on her head and pray for her healing. Then I said, "But I've never done this."

Daryl replied, "You don't have to do this."

However, from the instant Daryl had asked me, "How do you want to do this?" My hands began to tingle with spiritual power. I looked Daryl straight in the eye and said, "Ask and you will receive."

When Daryl sat down in the chair she had placed in the middle of the room, I remember saying to myself, "I want to see the power of God." Placing my hands gently on Daryl's head, I prayed for her to be healed in the name of Jesus Christ. Instantly as I prayed, my hands became super warm and I felt something like hot oil pour out of my hands into her head. Daryl's head also became very hot. I remember looking at my hands and that they had turned red from the fire of the Holy Spirit inside my hands.

Daryl was healed of her condition over the next two days. I was amazed by this experience and the spiritual insights that came to my life. This was a very exciting experience for both Daryl and me.

The next day at work, I told my boss at work about this experience. He was excited and revealed to me that he was a charismatic believer. As I worked throughout that day, I was unaware of any new spiritual difference in my life. It was a normal day. After work, I went home and laid down to rest for about 30 minutes. When I awoke from my nap, I realized that my hands were on fire with the presence of the Holy Spirit. The day was January 16, 1990. Since that very day, I have felt the fire of the Holy Spirit in my hands and other places. It was as though I had suddenly been catapulted to a new level of spiritual life.
