Jesus' Prophecy According to Luke 21:7,20-24, 29-33, the disciples ask Jesus for a single sign about the temple's destruction (verse 7). Jesus foretold of Jerusalem's destruction in AD 70 (verse 20-24) and that Gentiles would control Jerusalem into the distant future (verse 24b). Jesus' prophecy was fulfilled on June 7, 1967, when Israel regained control of the Old City. So Jesus tied Jerusalem's destruction in AD 70 to a final generation (verses 29-33) that began on June 7, 1967.
