Signs for the Second Coming of Christ |

According to the gospel of Matthew, the Magi saw a bright star in
the heavens and followed it to Jerusalem where they inquired where
the Messiah would be born.
"Now after Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea
in the days of Herod the king, behold, Magi from the east arrived in
Jerusalem saying, "Where is He who has been born King of the
Jews?" For we saw His star in the east, and have come to
worship him." And when Herod the king heard it, he was
troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. And gathering together all the
chief priests and scribes of the people, he began to inquire of them
where the Christ was to be born. And they said to him, "In
Bethlehem of Judea, for so it has been written by the prophet,
"And you, Bethlehem, land of Judah are by no means least among
the leaders of Judah; for out of you shall come forth a ruler, who
will shepherd my people Israel." (Matt.
2:1-6).
Who were the Magi? Almost all scholarly references to the Magi
refer to them as a religious caste from Persia who were devoted to
astrology, divination, and the interpretation of dreams. It is
apparent the Magi studied the heavens and connected the brilliant
star with the birth of the Messiah. Although the Magi were familiar
with the Old Testament, they lacked details about the Messiah since
they went to Jerusalem to find out where the Messiah would be born.
If God used a bright star to bring the Magi (astrologers) to the
Messiah in the 1st century at the birth of Christ, will God use
astrological signs to bring people to Himself prior to Second Coming
of Christ?

| Astrology in the Bible |
|
According to the biblical story about the Magi, the astronomers
and astrologers of the 1st century, God used a unique astronomical
object to bring these wise men to Israel to worship the Messiah.
However, the Bible condemns astrology as noted by the prophet
Isaiah:
"Let your astrologers come forward, those
stargazers who make predictions month by month, let them save you
from what is coming upon you. Surely they are like stubble; the fire
will burn them up. They cannot even save themselves from the power
of the flame." (Isaiah 47:13-14).
Between the story of the Magi and the biblical condemnation of
astrology, why is the story of the Magi in the New Testament?
After much contemplation, I believe that God placed a unique
astronomical object in the heavens to bring the Magi (astrologers)
to the Messiah. Only the Messiah brings salvation to us, not
astrology or astrological messages.

the Second Coming of Christ |

If God used a brilliant star to bring astrologers to himself in
the 1st century at the first appearing of the Messiah, could God use
astrological signs to bring astrologers to Himself prior to second
coming of Christ?
Consider the astrological parallels described below.
In doing my research to astronomically date when Daniel's
"time-oriented" prophecy occurred in ancient history, I
kept coming up with dates that have special meaning as birth dates
of my family members. Is it truly significant that the historic
dates found in Daniel's "time-oriented" prophecy are
paralleled by my mother's and father's birthdays in the 20th
century?
The chart below reviews my research and specifically notes the
dates that evolve from Daniel's "time-oriented" prophecy
of the seventy weeks based on scientific/biblical dating. The
calculated date that Christ proclaimed himself to be Messiah
occurred on April 6, AD 32 and the date of the temple's destruction
occurred on August 5, AD 70. I have outlined both dates in the chart
below along with the corresponding birth dates of my mother and
father.

My mother was born on April 6, 1925 and my father was born on
August 5, 1917.
Are these birth date astrological signs, mere coincidence, or do
they show some form of divine planning that occurred before my
parent's births? Consider the impact on me as I set about
scientifically dating the events of Daniel's
"time-oriented" prophecy fulfilled two millennia ago.
Although the alignment of my parent's birth dates is interesting, I do not accept astrology as a guide for my life. As the Scripture in Isaiah proclaims, astrology is like stubble and it has no basis as a guide for your life..
