Revelation is the act of disclosure or enlightenment from God through a prophet or apostle. In comparison, inspiration involves
gaining an understanding of God's word, the Bible. As such,
revelation goes far beyond inspiration since actual God-breathed
words are imparted to the prophet. Is it possible that God would
actually speak through a prophet in the twentieth century?
Most people raised with a Christian belief system have a
difficult time accepting the idea that God would speak through a
modern-day, Spirit-filled prophet. Usually, we find those who claim
to hear from God are found in mental institutions. I believe it is
important to have an open mind on the possibility that God may
choose people to be His prophet(s) in the end times. If someone
were so chosen by God, how would he know beyond all doubt that he
was indeed a prophet of the Most High?
The journey of my spiritual encounters began with a born again
experience when I was approximately 10 to 12 years old. I don't
remember my age, only the experience of feeling the Holy Spirit
coming into my life and setting me totally free. At the time of my
being born again, I felt as though I could fly, or that I was as
light as a kite. Some psychologists would say that I had a cathartic
cleansing. However, after more than 40 years have passed, I know
beyond all doubt that my Creator lives and that He appeared upon our
earth in the historic person of Jesus Christ about two millennia
ago.
